Features
It records both sides of the call
Most meeting recorders only hear you. MeetingInsights can also capture the audio your Mac is playing, so the other side of a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call is transcribed too, mixed with your microphone into a single live transcript.
Works on a Mac with no microphone
On a Mac mini or Mac Studio, turn on system audio capture and the app records the call audio on its own.
Minutes, not just a wall of text
When the meeting ends, Apple Intelligence writes it up: a summary, the key discussion points, the decisions made, action items with the owner named, and the agreed next steps. Tick action items off as they are done.
Live minutes
On long meetings you can have minutes drafted as you go, so a summary is ready the moment you stop.
Ask about any meeting
Ask a question about a meeting and get a short answer drawn only from that meeting's transcript and minutes.
Bring recordings you already have
Drag in an M4A, WAV, MP3 or AIFF file, or import a batch of them, and each one is transcribed and written up the same way.
Built like a Mac app
A three-column library with an inspector, a full menu bar with keyboard shortcuts, multiple windows, a menu bar timer, and a global shortcut to start or stop recording from any app.
Export anywhere
Export minutes as PDF, Markdown or plain text, and transcripts as text or Markdown. Files go only where you choose in the save panel.
Private by design
There is no networking code in this app. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to go. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party services.
Privacy
MeetingInsights for Mac collects no personal data. Recording, transcription, minutes generation and the per-meeting chat all happen on your Mac with Apple Intelligence. The app contains no networking code, and recordings, transcripts and minutes stay in its sandbox until you export or delete them. Read the full privacy policy.
Requirements
- macOS 26 or later on an Apple silicon Mac
- Minutes, live minutes, titles and Ask require Apple Intelligence to be turned on. Recording, live transcription, import and every export work without it
- Capturing system audio asks for macOS permission the first time you use it, and can be switched off per recording
Recording laws vary by country and state, and many require everyone's consent. Please make sure everyone in the meeting knows they are being recorded.
